Sometimes our current garden meets our needs visually, but does not fulfill our other needs. In this horticultural situation, incorporating a Specialty Garden often makes sense. With some targeted design, Gardinia can help you grow delicious heirloom edibles, engage children with nature, and keep your vases constantly filled with the season’s prettiest flowers. The following are a few of the many Specialty Gardens that we design:
- Kitchen Garden – A charming, space-efficient garden to grow a bounty of edibles.
- Cutting Garden – A garden to grow and audaciously cut flowers without ruining the ‘show.’
- Children’s Garden – A sensory garden that safely captivates children through sound, taste, scent, touch, and a few friendly critters.
- Healing Garden – A soothing, meditative garden that heals the mind and body.
A Specialty Garden design begins with a Garden Consultation, where we will discuss your needs, vision, and budget. We will also assess your current garden to identify the ideal site for your Specialty Garden.
Once we have all the information we need, we will create a bespoke Specialty Garden that is presented in a detailed proposal that contains design concepts, material choices, plant palettes, planting plan, sizes and quantities, and a maintenance schedule.
If you wish to go forward with your Specialty Garden (after any proposal changes that you may have are incorporated), we will have you sign an agreement and pay a 50% deposit on the estimate. Once signed and funds are received, we will schedule work sessions, order materials and plants, put on our overalls and start getting our hands very dirty!
